"Earlier this year our Christ the King Act1v8 and Ignite Youth Groups went to the CTK KickStart Camp at Glenroy Christian Camp. During this camp there were lots of highlights but the biggest highlight would have been how everyone came together as a family under the presence of God.
Throughout the camp we participated in different games that related to God in some way, such as the ‘Bridges Game.’ In this game we had to get our team from the side of sin to the other side where we were reconnected with God. There were bricks throughout the course and you had to put planks between each one to create mini bridges that allowed the team to cross the “lava”. The aim was to get the whole team across the course without falling off. It was a great challenge!
We had many fun and reflective times. We played a few messy games with mud, flour and mucky gunge which were a very big hit and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them! However, as well as messing around and having heaps of fun there were some serious times like Adoration, Prayer and Mass. These were times where we were able to reflect on the day’s activities and talk to God.
The Catholic Mission Team and James Bryant made it possible for this camp to happen. They all put a lot of time into organising this camp! From organising activities to making sure we had enough food to eat. Without them it would not have been possible to have the KickStart camp that started off our year with a blast!"
